About Wanova
Whether deployed on-premise or at a service provider, a Desktop Cloud enables organizations to leverage a centralized Desktop as a Service offering in order to improve agility, reduce costs, and enable company IT staff to focus on projects that are strategic to their business instead of individually managing each end point.
Wanova provides a turnkey Desktop Cloud solution that centralizes PC images in the network similar to VDI, but enables a copy of the image to run locally on a laptop or desktop so users can take advantage of the native performance of a PC -- including the ability to run multimedia applications and work while disconnected from the network.
Centralization not only enables management of a single copy of operating systems, applications, etc., but also enables back up of the entire end-point image, not just the data. This returns an exact copy back to users, even down to personal applications, personal files and operating system personalization.
Benefits for both service providers and enterprises include:
- Centralized single image management enables enterprise IT and service providers to take advantage of the power of one -- one copy of Windows and one copy of each application. Manage and update a single copy of Windows and a single copy of each application instead of trying to manage thousands of end points inside the firewall or worse, outside the firewall.
- Total Image Restore creates a perfect image of any computer to allow easy disaster recovery or easily move from one computer to another when upgrading – even down to end user personalization. Restoring is as easy as installing a new Wanova client – no need for CDs, DVDs, or other complicated restore alternatives.
- Full bi-directional network optimization and integrated storage de-duplication stores only one copy of a file, application, or operating system in the data center and does not transfer a file, application, or operating system over the WAN if another user’s system has already done so.
- Integrated PC troubleshooting enables IT and service providers to use centralized images to solve common PC issues or revert back to a previous version of an image where there was no issue – all without affecting user installed applications, user data, and user personalization.
Wanova is privately held and backed by leading venture capital firms Greylock Partners, Carmel Ventures and Opus Capital.
